What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to wealth management and many financial decisions are not black and white. I enjoy working with each client to come up with a customized plan that fits their individual and family needs and helps them reach their goals. Fore me, the main goal is not early retirement, but rather financial independence or as I define it, “the point when work becomes optional.” Financial independence creates autonomy and peace and allows people more flexibility to focus on what matters most to them. I find it very rewarding to help our clients meet their financial goals.

What do you love most about Practice Financial Group?

Before joining PFG, I’ve had the opportunity to work at a few different firms and perform financial audits for various companies which offered a sneak peek into each organization. From this experience, I realized that many organizations tend to be resistant to change mostly because change is uncomfortable. When I joined PFG, it was refreshing to be part of a company that not only doesn’t resist change but embraces it. This has contributed to an exciting place to work where I feel supported and challenged to better myself and provide better service for our clients. In addition, we have great people at PFG, and it truly does feel like a team.

Other than to pay bills, why is PFG in business?

One of our values is to put people first and our common goal at PFG is to help improve the lives of the clients and families we serve along with our own team. The services we provide allow our clients to focus more of their time and talents on personal and professional goals while minimizing the stress or concern over their financial position and financial future.

What do you do at PFG?

My role at PFG is evolving and continues to expand based on the needs of the business. Overall, my role is to be a financial coach and guide each client in developing a financial plan and making financial decisions whether personal or business. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but if I don’t know, I’ll do the research and put in the work to help each client make the best decision for them and their unique situation.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Returning to college after five years in a different field and completing an intensive Accounting Master’s program and then earning my CPA designation all within a two-year period.

What strengths of yours make you suited for what you do?

Ever since I was a kid, I have been interested in numbers and finance and I’ve seen firsthand the negative impacts from the lack of financial education and poor financial management. Financial planning is a natural extension of my curiosity and allows me to help, not only the clients I serve, but also my own family and friends.

What are your interests outside of work?

My main interests are spending time with my family and spending time outdoors. I spend most weekends working in the yard or enjoying outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, or fishing with my son. I also really enjoy visiting new places and trying different foods.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

Maybe not a personal accomplishment, but I derive the most joy and pride from my wife Cate and our three children. No personal or professional accomplishment would have been possible without their love and support.
